ERC Inaugurates a District Health Unit, Motherhood and Childhood Centre in Yemen
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) opened a health unit and a motherhood and childhood centre in the Mawza district of the Taiz Governorate. Moreover, ERC also equipped the health unit and motherhood and child centre with medicines as well as food supplements for the children.
The opening of the unit and centre is a part of the ERC’s assistance for the humanitarian, services and development part in the Taiz Governorate and along Yemen’s Red Sea Coast, in order to mitigate the pain and adversity of Yemenis and offer necessary health services to women and children.
Mohammed Al Junaibi, Head of the ERC’s Relief Aid Programme, commented that the opening of the unit and centre intends to offer health services to women and children and dispense free medical services to more than 700 families, which is tantamount to 22,000 people living in Mawza and adjoining areas.
Mohammed Al Junaibi even stated that the district health unit and motherhood and child centre were furnished with latest medical instruments and necessary medicines, in order to treat all familiar diseases and pandemic within the district.
Dr. Abdulrahim Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Health Office in Mawza District, stated that the ERC is extending free health services to the residents of the district’s villages and nearby areas while mentioning that it pulled off the rehabilitation and conservation, and furnished the unit and the centre with necessary items,
During the opening of the unit and centre, local officials acknowledged the UAE for supplying aid and offering free health services to the residents, along with relief, water, health, and other assistance while applauding the ERC’s role in reestablishing, preserving and equipping local health facilities that were plundered and devastated by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.
