The Launch of Malaysia Yemen Humanitarian Fund
The Foreign Ministry has called on the Malaysians for contributing humanitarian aid to victims of civil war that is taking place in Yemen. Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah have stated that the move have been necessary for easing the burden of Yemenis, particularly women and children who are now suffering from an ongoing crisis.
He has stated that they have urged all Malaysians to come forward for contributing as assistance from the people in the country is going to go a long way in helping out people in Yemen who need food and health treatment. Other than that, he hopes that the financial contribution can be collected soon for preparing the war victims for impending winter.
There Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub, the Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Chairman and Mohamad Raimi Ab Rahim, the Global Peace Mission Malaysia President was also present. In the meantime, Mohamad Raimi is actually targeting to collect RM1 million in 6 months for humanitarian fund. The Yemen Humanitarian Fund had been organized along with GPM cooperation, Kumpulan Karangkraf, and Sinar Harian.
Initially a contribution of RM100, 000 is going to be disbursed at the end of November for the distribution of items like clean water, food, baby products, winter kits, and medicines. He stated that the Malaysians that want to contribute can do so through the Global Peace Mission account on Affin Islamic Bank, Maybank Islamic, and Bank Islam.
