British Ambassador to Yemen: Houthis have no right to appoint ambassadors
The UK’s ambassador to Yemen, Michael Aron, said that “only the legitimate government in Yemen can appoint ambassadors.”
“The Houthis have no right to appoint ambassadors,” he said, referring to the Houthi militia appointing ambassador to Tehran. “This person has no official status. We will not meet with him,” he said.
On Saturday evening, Houthi militias issued a decision appointing a Yemeni ambassador to Iran, which the Yemeni government internationally recognized, considered as a “flagrant violation of international laws and customs.”
