KSA lifts up the ban on importing Yemeni agricultural products
After imposing a ban on yemen’s agricultural products the KSA General Authority for Food announced that : “It was agreed with the Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation to facilitate the mechanism of receiving shipments and food products from the Republic of Yemen, and to enhance the opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in the field of food,” .
In a new development that will lead to a slight improvement in Yemen’s economy, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced through the Food and Drug Authority, today, the lifting of the ban on the import of Yemeni fresh pomegranate fruits, and to start receiving the first batch of, Thursday, according to the agreed procedures. Forth with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
The lifting of the ban comes after the Yemeni exporters and farmers met the requirements of the authority.
The Yemeni Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr.Sha’i Al-Zindani, met with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, today, the CEO of the Saudi Food Authority, Dr. Hisham Al-Jada’i, to start receiving the first payment starting today as per the agreed procedures.
It is worth mentioning that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary ban on the import of fresh fruits from the Republic of Yemen after it was proved that the residues of pesticides exceeded the limitinternationally agreed on.
