Political Breakthroughs on Yemen Gets Welcomed by the UAE
The UAE has appreciated and accepted the political advancement on Yemen, which includes the position of Hodeidah, which was reached during the Sweden Consultations.
On 13th December, Thursday, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, stated that the news from Sweden that has reached them was a cheering and motivating one. He added that an important political breakthrough has been made, which includes the situation of Hodeidah. He further commented that the development was possible due to the efforts taken by the Saudi-led Arab coalition and Yemeni Forces. They exerted military pressure in order to reach a solution.
Dr. Gargash emphasized that the promise to the political process and efforts taken by the United Nations, and the need to go on with these measures, to guarantee the balance and accomplishment of the Yemeni people, must be reached via a viable political solution as per UN Resolution 2216.
The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs went ahead to state that strategic advancement was made feasible by continued military constraint against the Houthis along the Red Sea Coast and adjoining areas in Hodeidah. He asserted that the coalition has held its pledge to retain and uphold the flow of humanitarian aid and refrain from destroying the port.
Dr. Gargash conveyed his earnest acknowledgement to the 5,000 Emirati soldiers and Yemeni forces for their eagerness to free Hodeidah Port. He added that the bravery and dedication helped in making the strategic progress a big success.
He also broadcasted his gratitude to the United Nations and to the Special Envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffiths, for their endeavors, determination, and their promise to keep peace to the people of Yemen.
