SANAA: A child was killed and two others wounded in a Houthi mine explosion
A child was killed and two other members of a family were injured on Friday when a mine exploded in the Yam district of Nuham district, eastof the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
A local source said that Marsh Rabie, 9, was killed and his two brothers Hammam, 7, and Sanaa Rabea, 6, were seriously injured when a landmine was detonated by Houthi militias while grazing sheep in the Yam area.
Local media quoted the source as saying that the two injured children were taken to the General Hospital in Marib city for treatment.
This incident is the sixth in the Yam area, which the Houthis booby-trapped with thousands of mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) after their expulsion a year and a half ago. Mines and IEDs have already exploded, killing many of them.
