South Yemen thanks Saudi Arabia and the UAE during street celebrations
Hundreds of thousands of people in many southern Yemeni provinces staged mass demonstrations and streets celebrations to express the Southern Transitional Council thanks to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Thousands of people arrived Wednesday evening to the martyr Madram Street in the temporary capital Aden carrying flags and pictures of the rulers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to express thanks to the two countries for all the liberated provinces since the start of the Operation: Storm
This call for the rally comes after the security belt forces were able to repel the attack of the Islah Party militias, which launched attacks targeting the provinces of Aden, Abyan and Shabwa.
The governorates witnessed severe tensions before the coalition countries intervened by demanding a truce and calling for dialogue in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The official celebrations are expected to start on Thursday afternoon in Aden and Mukalla, which is expected to witness major events, while popular marches were launched on Socotra Island, including a women’s march carrying the flags of the UAE.
