Ten soldiers killed and wounded in an al-Qaeda attack south of Yemen
A security source said that terrorists belonging to al-Qaeda, launched on Friday, an attack on a security point in the city of Abyan, southern Yemen, killing five soldiers and injuring others.
The source, who asked not to be named, told Presse that the security point was being followed by the security belt forces at Al-Hamr station in Al-Mahfad Directorate.
According to the source, the terrorists managed to escape, after the security forces spread in the region to find them.
Al-Qaeda elements are deployed in several areas of Abyan Governorate again, the province has been cleared of these elements after recent military operations.
In the past, al-Qaeda operatives have carried out numerous armed attacks in Abyan targeted elements of the army, security, and officials, leaving many dead and wounded.
