The signing of “Riyadh Agreement” postponed for Protocol arrangement
The Yemeni government attributed the postponement of the final signing of the Riyadh agreement, which was scheduled on Thursday with the Southern Transitional Council, to “protocol arrangements”, in addition to the desire of Saudi Arabia to meet with various components and personalities of the south in order to unify efforts.
Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar al-Iryani said in tweets published on Thursday evening on his Twitter page that the initialling of the Riyadh agreement took place last week, and that what is currently happening is a protocol arrangement, in addition to the desire of the brothers in the Kingdom to meet with various components. The southern figures are keen to join forces. “
He also stressed that “there is no truth to some media trumpets about the obstruction or refusal of the government to sign the Riyadh agreement with the aim of mixing papers, and offend the positions of the government and misleading public opinion.”
Al-Iryani renewed “the government’s call to deal constructively with the agreement .He praised the Kingdom’s continued extraordinary efforts to gather the word of Yemenis and unify their efforts in the battle to restore the state and overthrow the coup, considering it “a practical embodiment of Saudi diplomacy and its constructive and leading role in Yemen and the region.”
