The UAE praised by European Parliament for initiatives in Yemen

A delegation from the European Parliament has praised the development and humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the United Arab Emirates in Yemen. It also stated that the Emirates Red Crescent is among the most influential and effective organizations operating in Yemen.

The Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent, Dr Mohammad Ateeq Al Falahi, recently welcomed and met with the Chairperson of the Arab Peninsula Committee of the European Parliament, Michele Alliot-Marie. Accompanying the chairperson was her delegation. The meeting took place at the ERC headquarters during which the compliments were given.

Dr Al Falahi also focused on the incredible effectiveness of the development projects and rescue programs of the ERC are.

Michele Alliot-Marie said that the European Parliament appreciates the efforts of the UAE to reduce the suffering of the Yemeni people. The ERC also works to bring about an improvement in the lives of the people affected by the ongoing events in several Yemeni governorates. She also said that she is closely monitoring the activities of the ERC in Yemen. Michele Alliot-Marie also noted that the ERC is taking care of the humanitarian situation with efficiency and responsibility.
Both parties have agreed that it is important to improve the cooperation between both parties. They also exchanged information and ideas. This will help both further their aims of delivering aid to the affected peoples while coordinating the distribution of food aid and supplies. They will also work together to increase the scope of their projects so that additional Yemeni governorates are served.
