The UAE Red Crescent Society provides relief assistance to low-income people in Shabwa governorate

The UAE Red Crescent Authority distributed food aid containing the main food components for the low-income people in Aridh Al-Sheikh area in Lower Markha district in Shabwa governorate, as part of its humanitarian and relief efforts at various levels to help the brothers in Yemen and alleviate their suffering and improve their living conditions.

The distribution team of the Authority distributed (100) food basket at the rate of (8 tons) targeting (610) members of the population of Arid Al-Sheikh area.

This assistance comes in conjunction with the “Year of Tolerance” to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni families within the framework of the humanitarian approach undertaken by the United Arab Emirates, in light of the worsening humanitarian situation that afflicts the population of these areas in Shabwa governorate.

For their part, a number of beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE leadership and people for this great help and humanitarian gesture that will contribute to alleviate the suffering of many families in the midst of these difficult living conditions due to the deteriorating economic conditions and lack of job opportunities and thus the sources of income of a large number of heads of households.

It is noteworthy that the number of food baskets that have been distributed since the beginning of the year of tolerance in 2015 are more than  30,578 food basket targeting 141,787 members of needy and affected families in Shabwa governorate, an average of 1695 tons and 920 kilograms was distibuted.
