UAE assistance to Hais Hospital to cope with epidemics spreading in the West Coast
The United Arab Emirates, through the UAE Red Crescent Authority, provided on Thursday (August 22nd) a new batch of medicines to Hays General Hospital on the West Coast, in response to the health sector call to help cope with the epidemics of cholera and malaria.
The representative of the UAE Red Crescent in the West Coast said that the Authority has received a distress call from the health office in the Directorate of Hays of Hodeidah governorate to provide treatment assistance to combat cases of cholera and acute watery diarrhea, which increased during the past days with the rainy season.
For his part, the Director General of Hays Directorate, Mr. Mutahar Al-Qadi, praised the continuous support provided by the United Arab Emirates to the health sector and various sectors in the Directorate of Hays and all the directorates and liberated areas in the west coast of Yemen.
ALQADI said: “ this rapid response embodies the generous humanitarian support of the UAE, which was the first of its kind through the humanitarian arm of the UAE Red Crescent to serve the people of Hays Directorate since the first days of its liberation and purification from Iranian-backed Houthi militias. ”
For his part, the Director of the Health Bureau in the Directorate of Hays Dr. Mohammed TalebHamna thanked the UAE for its generous and continuous support to the health sector in the Directorate.

enable us to provide medical services to the people and face epidemics,” he added.
