UAE Red Crescent launches second phase of Cholera Campaign
The United Arab Emirates, through its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent Authority, launched the second phase of the campaign against the cholera epidemic in the context of the continuous support provided by the UAE to the people of Al Wazaya and the Yemeni people.
The second phase of the cholera campaign included water sterilization and raising awareness of the causes of the cholera epidemic, its symptoms, sources of infection and methods of prevention through awareness lectures by the medical team of the UAE Red Crescent.
The representative of the UAE Red Crescent in the West Coast said that the second stage is to inform the population of the areas suffering from the cholera epidemic, this phase is a continuation of the campaign to treat and control the cholera epidemic.
For his part, Dr. Rabash Ahmed Saleh, director of the Health and Population Office at the Directorate of Al-Wazea’iyah, said that the UAE Red Crescent provided medicines and medical supplies for all health centers in the Directorate, which contributed to saving lives from the threat of the deadly cholera epidemic. the members of the Directorate of Al-Wazea’iyah.
The campaign’s supervisor, Dr. Fuad Ahmed Mohammed, said that the field teams have started their work starting from the area of Husayb al-Qubba and will continue the process of raising awareness from house to house in order to achieve the objectives of this campaign and get rid of this epidemic.
A number of Yemeni citizens praised this gesture, which gave them hope for life and avoid the dangers of this dangerous and deadly epidemic.
Cholera is a highly contagious disease that causes severe diarrhea, leading to rapid dehydration. If left untreated, it causes the patient to die within hours.
