UAE: Yemen’s Largest Emergency Aid Donor
UAE has been ranked as the largest emergency humanitarian assistance donor to Yemen in the world for the year 2018. As per the Financial Tracking Service (FTS) is a centralized source for information on humanitarian funding flows. As a matter of fact, UAE is also the second largest source that supports the 2018 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, after the Kingdom of South Arabia.
The recent FTS figure display that since the starting of 2018 to 1st October 2018, UAE offered AED4.56 billion as aid to Yemen which includes AED1.71 billion to YHRP, and as direct humanitarian assistance AED815.8 million.
The report includes humanitarian help to Yemen from the starting of 2018 to August 5th, 2018. UAE has offered help to Yemen which amounts to AED3.75 billion, that includes AED1.71 billion in response to YHRP, and also AED730 million as the direct humanitarian assistance.
The UAE help to Yemen from 2015 April to 2018 September has only amounted to AED14.79 billion that covers various sectors that includes humanitarian relief aid and also reconstruction efforts across many liberated Yemeni governorates.
