United Nations: UAE efforts have helped normalize life in Yemen

Representatives of the United Nations organizations, the World Health Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) praised the UAE’s active role in providing humanitarian assistance and development programs in the western coast of Yemen, which had a major role in the normalization of life , during a meeting that was attended by representatives of United Nations organizations, Mohammed Al Junaibi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs of the UAE Red Crescent in Yemen, on the West Coast , to discuss mechanisms of cooperation and partnership in humanitarian work along the West Coast.

Al-Junaibi presented complete information on the nature of projects carried out by the UAE through the UAE Red Crescent Authority in the West Coast, including the rehabilitation and furnishing of 47 schools, 24 fish landing centers, 22 health centers, 31 projects in the solar water sector, In the electricity sector and various community projects for capacity development and promotion, in order to raise the level of income of Yemeni citizens in different cities and villages of the West Coast, and help them to improve their living conditions.

Representatives of United Nations organizations praised and encouraged The ongoing efforts and activities of the UAE, including campaigns to combat cholera, malaria and other activities that have contributed to serving the Yemeni citizens along the West Coast.

The Yemeni people also expressed their gratitude to the UAE support and help in a major popular march Hundreds of Abyan children gathered in the streets of Zanzibar at the invitation of the “Youth Forum of the Governorate”, holding flags of the UAE, to express their appreciation and thanks for the humanitarian and military efforts they have made to strengthen security and stability and to confront the Houthis war.

Participants showed slogans supporting the UAE, And denouncing the desperate attempts to undermine the UAE efforts and its important role and contribution within the Arab alliance, explaining that the UAE was the first to respond to the fraternal appeal and call for help, and to provide assistance and support to Yemen.

The UAE Red Crescent Society continued to provide relief assistance to alleviate the suffering of poor and needy families in various liberated Yemeni governorates as part of the humanitarian emergency response.
