Yemen Obtains Huge Aid from UAE

Food aid from UAE is known to have reached 448,000 Yemenis last month that contain 320,00 children and 65,000 women as part of continued humanitarian and relief effort in order to reduce the suffering of the Yemeni people that had been produced by Iran backed Houthi militias. The assistant staffs from ERC or Emirates Red Crescent had distributed more than 64,000 food bags in 9 governorates for helping in reintroducing normal living circumstance in the liberated regions of the country.

He had added that the teams are going to distribute essential food supplies in the liberated governorates of the country to assist the families so that they are able to deal with the awful humanitarian conditions.

The General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief CentreSalman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre and the Advisor of the Saudi Royal Court, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah had announced that Saudi Arabia and UAE is going to provide US$70 million towards the salaries of the teachers in Yemen collaborating with United Nations and UNICEF, each country paying half the sum.

The Saudi Press Agency had quoted Al-Rabiah stating that in the press statement, the sum is going to boost the salaries of around 135,000 teaching staff. Al-Rabiah had added that the Saudi-Arab led coalition is following the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the deteriorating economic conditions as monthly salaries weren’t paid to a particular segment, especially to the educational sector.

The donation keeps coming as a part of the continued support that had been undertaken by the coalition countries for alleviating the economic and humanitarian crisis of Yemeni people with US$17 billion which had been presented since 2015 and is still ongoing. The coalition has highlighted the importance of the unified international effort that supports the humanitarian and also economic initiatives in Yemen for avoiding the worsening of this situation as said by Al-Rabiah.
