Yemenis on the Brink of Famine, Food Relief Agency Request for Clear Access to Battlefront

As the Yemen war enters fifth year, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) is urging for “unimpeded access” to the most wretched areas in the battlefront regions “to avert the food security situation declining”. After receiving reports of intense clashes breaking out in many locations within Hodeidah city, including an onslaught yesterday on an important supply route from Hodeida to Sana’a. WFP showed security concerns in guaranteeing proper humanitarian support by WFP and other UN agencies. It is being reported that almost 10 million of Yemenis are one step away from famine.
