Yemen’s cabinet said on Thursday that arrangements for the return of the legitimate government to the interim capital of Aden under the Riyadh agreement signed with the Southern Transitional Council “are under way in coordination with brothers in Saudi Arabia.”
The cabinet aso said that logistical arrangements supervised by the coalition leadership are nearing completion and the government will be in Aden very soon, pointing out the government’s keenness to ensure the successful implementation of the Riyadh agreement as it establishes a new phase of normalization of the situation in the liberated areas and to unify efforts to confront the Iranian Houthi project in Yemen.
This came in a statement issued by a meeting of the Yemeni Council of Ministers, in Riyadh, to review the directives of President Hadi on the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.
The Yemeni President directed the ministries and the concerned authorities both to take the necessary measures in an urgent and immediate manner to implement what is related to them in the agreement, affirming the government’s commitment to implement in accordance with the specified time plans and contribute to the success of the agreement.
In its statement, the Yemeni government reiterated that the Riyadh agreement represents a major step towards redressing the imbalances that accompanied the liberation of most of Yemen’s territory from Houthi militias, and uniting efforts to accelerate the completion of the aborting of the Iranian project in Yemen.
it also appreciated the Saudi role under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Salman in supporting Yemen and its people in various circumstances.
The Yemeni Cabinet condemned the continued military escalation of Houthi militias and their repeated violations of the UN truce in the western province of Hodeidah.
The cabinet stressed that the silence on these escalations and violations encourages the Houthi militias to continue to torpedo efforts to bring peace and disavow its obligations to the international community in the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement.
